Radio Controlled Helicopter Powered By “Microwave Death Ray”

Can a microwave oven be used to power a radio controlled helicopter? That is the question that Bang Goes The Theory’s Jem set out to answer, and answer it he did.

The system consists of a large metal funnel to direct microwaves from the microwave oven’s magnetron towards a purpose-built antenna, which harvests the power for the radio controlled helicopter. Fortunately, no eyeballs were fried in this experiment.
