Geriatric Gang Faces Court For Getting Medieval on Kidnapped Financial Adviser With Cigarettes and a Chair Leg

Four German investors are facing court accused of kidnapping a financial adviser after they lost significant amounts of money in the US property market.

The four people, two married couples aged between 63 and 79, and an alleged co-conspirator, are accused of kidnapping 56-year-old James Amburn and holding him hostage for four days last June.

It is alleged that Amburn, a German-American, was hit from behind with a Zimmer frame, before being bundled into an Audi A8. In the course of the kidnapping ordeal, Amburn is said to have been burned with cigarettes and beaten with a chair leg while he was “chained up like an animal.” He suffered two broken ribs.

Amburn finally escaped when he notified his bank via a secret S.O.S. message concealed in a fax.

News.com reports that the alleged leader of the geriatric gang, who has been identified as Roland K, could serve up to 15 years in jail – which would amount to a veritable life-sentence for the 75-year-old man.
