Lady Gaga was forced to change into normal clothes on a flight from London to the United States when one of her outfits caused her to develop deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
When the flight attendants saw her legs swelling, which is a symptom of DVT, they warned her that her life was at risk.
News.com reports that flight attendants had to help her out of the black and yellow tape outfit she had been wearing and that she also had to ditch a pair of giant blue shoes designed by her friend, the late Alexander McQueen.
An airline source is said to have commented:
Gaga was a high-risk DVT case so she was advised to change out of her clothes, but the outfit was so cumbersome she needed help changing out of it. She was particularly miffed about ditching her heels. She was wearing them in memory of her friend Alexander.

The link above shows this outfit made from ‘yellow and black tape’ that she wore on that transatlantic flight. That outfit doesn’t seem to be so restricting in the leg region, does it? She may have changed on board a flight, the woman changes outfits between commercial breaks, for goodness sake! By the way, the shoes she was wearing are Armani Prive, not Alexander McQueen — those who have fabricated this story should be ashamed of exploiting the designer’s memory to validate their story.
I am inclined to believe the flight attendants who were on the flight as opposed to someone who follows Gaga Daily.
Actually that outfit does look restricting in the leg region. It doesn’t have to be super-tight to bring on deep vein thrombosis, it just has to affect the circulation, and seated for an extended period of time on a flight it could have that effect. Once swelling starts, it becomes tighter and further complicates the situation. An outfit like that is not smart plane attire, period.
As for who designed the shoes, who cares?
