Driver gets speeding tickets 12,000 miles apart…by same cop

Talk about your all-time, nearly impossible coincidences—this one’s for the record books.

Constable Andy Flitton is a police officer on the small island country of New Zealand.  Flitton pulled over a speeding motorist on a road near Christchurch, and was stunned when the driver recognized him as the same officer who had given him a speeding ticket two years earlier.

In England.

Apparently the man had just emigrated from England, where he had lived for 12 years, to New Zealand.  Likewise, Flitton had been with the Metropolitan Police before relocating to New Zealand.  A bit of luck, and a lead foot later, the two met up again, some two years, and 12,000 miles later.

If you’ve ever doubted that yes, it is indeed a small world, this story should definitely change your mind.
