Australian woman tries to yada yada her way out of fine… it doesn’t go well

An Australian magistrate in Ipswich, Queensland is clearly not a Seinfeld fan.

When Kristine Annette Cosh was asked by Magistrate Michael Quinn was asked why she had been driving while unlicensed, she casually replied:

I’m a full time student, single mother and yada yada yada.

Magistrate Quinn told Ms. Cosh that he would not “accept babble as a reason for her actions.” She was fined $120.

It may seem mean and I am as big a Seinfeld fan as the next guy, but I don’t think that I am alone when I say that I think Magistrate Quinn made a wonderful decision. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he should have stopped at the $120 fine, I think Ms. Cosh should have been subjected to the full force of the law. Seriously, as much as I love Seinfeld, the yada yada expression became old really fast when everyone started using it 14 years ago, when 27-year-old Cosh was all of 13.

I was nervous as hell as it was my first time in a court room. But I am very happy that some one that does not know me feels so free to comment on what I deserved. I forgot to renew my license, it could happen to anyone. I was babbling because of nerves and I say yadda yadda all the time and have never seen this show.
