South Korean rapper Park Jae Sung, better known as PSY, has known a stellar success thanks to his entertaining megahit song Gangnam Style and more so because of the incredibly fun video produced for it.
The video, launched at mid July has achieved over 20.000.000 views in just two weeks, now topping over 32.000.000 views and towering over more renowned acts such as Canadian sensation Justin Bieber and other popular acts. Properly said, PSY is number 1. He has now been featured on several television shows in America, Europe and throughout the world.
There have also been a number of Internet memes made to depict PSY and his video for Gangnam Style.
Gangnam Style is a way of depicting the extravagant way of life that the rich and upscale area of Seoul known as Gangnam. In the video, Kpop queen Hyuna is seen as the girl with red hair in the metro car. They have also made an alternate version of the video where she interprets the main chorus, “Op, op, op, op, op… Gangnam Style…” with a cartooney voice.
