Inmates Save Deputy From Savage Assault

Screen shot 2009-11-07 at 10.48.44 PM
When 64-year-old Deputy Kenneth Moon was attacked suddenly by a much younger inmate, something unexpected happened; four inmates rushed to his defense and subdued his attacker.

Authorities are unsure of why Douglas Burden, 24, attempted to strangle Moon, but they believe that their quick action saved the deputy’s life. The four inmates, who were all convicted or awaiting trial over violent crimes said that they helped Moon because they thought he was a good person and they liked him.
