Holidaymakers at a beach in Gower Peninsula, Wales were terrified by a “writhing mass of tentacles” that washed up where they were swimming. What was it?
While truth is often stranger than fiction, in this case it was not. Swansea University’s Paul Brain explained that it was a free floating mass of goose barnacles. At approximately six-feet long, the mass was among the largest he had ever seen. They appeared to be attached to drift wood.
