Rocker Tommy Lee Jones Asks Calgary Stampede To Stop Stampede

“Dude, it’s the old west, not ancient Rome.”

Those are the words rocker Tommy Lee, of Motley Crew, wrote about the Calgary Stampede’s chuckwagon race and he wrote them on behalf of animal rights activists PETA.

Lee was in town playing with Motley Crew when he decided he should write Alberta premier, Alison Redford, to put a stop to the event which has resulted in the death of 50 horses since 1989.

Redford responded with tickets to the event and the whole Stampede as well as promises that the new rules put into place in 2010 after six horses died were working. Lee is doubtful anything but squashing the event for good will stop the horse fatalities.

Seems Lee is more concerned with the death of animals than brain cells.  [ Source ]
