Facebook Status Updates Lead to Arrest Of Really Stupid Fugitive

The basics of life on the lam are not exactly rocket science. Remain anonymous or adopt a new identity, don’t draw attention to yourself and don’t advertise your whereabouts to anyone who might want to turn you in – and definitely don’t update your Facebook status with your address, place of work and working hours.

According to CNN, Chris Crego, who had an outstanding warrant for skipping a court date over an assault charge that he had pleaded guilty to, did just that. Detectives who were looking for Crego found that both his Facebook and MySpace pages were well-maintained, with all the information that they needed to bring his life on the run to a swift and humiliating conclusion.
