Women prefer working men… around the house

Husbands hoping to bring a little more romance into their marriage should not bother investing in chocolates, flowers or restaurant meals.

A survey by a household appliance manufacturer suggests that the real key to a woman’s affection is helping with the housework, and no doubt using the appliance that the manufacturer just happens to make. What a coincidence .

Half of women said they would be amazed more impressed if their partner did the ironing, took out the rubbish or did the washing up. According to the household appliance manufacturer, this would win more hearts and romance than if he arranged a weekend away at the football or a candlelit dinner.

University of Lancaster professor Cary Cooper said a lot of women thought men weren’t pulling their weight at home. He doesn’t say what a lot of men thought however.

Personally, I take out the garbage and it gets me no credits at all. I must be doing something wrong.

I also have no issue with doing the ironing – as long as you don’t complain about the ‘train track creases’ – or the washing up.

I’ve offered to swap her chores with my own – mowing the lawn, cleaning the gutters and emptying the grease trap.

I’ve had no takers so far. Not even when I told her that I thought seeing her mowing the lawn could be rather sexy.
