“We built SockandAwe.com just for fun (and partly as a promo for our start-up, PopJam) but had no idea it would become quite so popular.” Alex Tew, creator of viral Flash game “Sock and Awe”.

Sock and Awe” is a whack-a-mole-esque Flash game which allows players to throw shoes at the forty-third president. The game was created by Alex Tew, the man that originally brought us The Million Dollar Homepage and it has gone viral with nearly 70 million shoes hurled at George W. Bush to date. Tew has since sold the game, as it was taking away too much time from his day job of building a humor site. [Sky News]

Incidentally, my top score is 11 – but that was using a trackpad not a mouse.
