A grand total of $367 will get you exactly one bottle of Carlsberg’s Vintage No. 2; only 600 bottles have been released. The beer, which was stored in French oak casks for 100 days, is described in the Moodie report:
The beer has a jet-black color and espresso-like foam, revealing flavors of vanilla and cocoa/mocha. The aroma contains hints of tar and ropes, which come from the peatsmoked Scottish malt, transported from Scotland solely for this brew.” Each bottle ishand-stenciled with a lithographic print. Recommended pairings include oysters, shellfish, Parma ham, cheese, chocolate and crème brûlée.
The beer may be purchased online directly from Carlsberg, or enjoyed in a limited number of upmarket Danish restaurants. At the moment, the restaurant list is limited to Noma, NIMB, Premisse, Kong Hans and The Paul, all of which are located in Copenhagen. [Born Rich via Baller House]
