Sixty-year-old Robert McDonald is facing charges of reckless endangerment after being arrested at New York’s Kennedy Airport for allegedly opening the emergency door on a Delta Air Lines flight this Sunday night as the plane sat on a runway during a delay that lasted for several hours.
Airline staff were able to prevent the man from fully opening the door and activating the emergency chute. McDonald, who could face up to a year in jail if convicted, did not enter a plea at his arraignment on Monday. [Philly]
