Australian Authorities Considering a Cull to Tackle Out-of-Control Kangaroo Problem

Its man vs. kangaroo in the Australian capital city of Canberra, as an overrun of wild kangaroos are causing a multitude of problems, which vary from colliding with cars, to bouncing in bedroom windows. The problem is so bad that authorities are proposing a cull to diminish the population.

Previous attempts by Canberra authorities to control the kangaroo population included giving the kangaroos vasectomies and oral contraceptives, but to no avail. The kangaroos have been known to bounce across the roof of the Parliament House, and even went so far as to jump in to the Ettlin house, scaring the family out of their wits before being wrestled out of the house by the father, Beat Ettlin. But as bad as the problem has gotten, a survey shows that 80% of residents think the kangaroos should stay.

Conversely, another survey shows that 17% of drivers in the district have had the pleasure of colliding with one of the beasts at least once. The public has until May 11th to make the government aware of its opinion on the subject, and undoubtedly emotions will run high, as they always do whenever the subject of mass killing of cute and furry animals is brought up.
