Tourism Queensland received a great deal of publicity for what they called, “the best job in the world.” They aimed to recruit someone to live on tropical Hamilton Island. Applications are still running, but that hasn’t stopped New Zealand from promoting what they are calling the “second best job in the world,” a position as caretaker of Aroha Island.
Just what does the second best job in the world have to offer? The lucky person would get to live on a 200 meter by 400 meter piece island that has been described as a “perfect garden of a place” by Dave Hill, the former volunteer manager.
He went on to state:
You’re really in the bay of islands here, which is something of a ding dong place when it comes to water activity.
The only catch to living in the “ding dong” location is that it is as a volunteer; unlike the Hamilton Island position, the lucky applicant will receive no remuneration. [ABC News]
