There are few things worse than having a child abducted by your estranged spouse, especially when your attempts at finding said child continually turn fruitless.
Such was the sad case of Avril Grube from Poole, Dorset on the southern coast of England. After splitting with her Hungarian born husband, she gained custody of their young son Gavin Paros.
Unfortunately for Avril, her ex-husband had visitation rights, and took the youngster to Hungary soon after the divorce. Avril had not seen her son since then.
For 27 years Avril, as well as her sister Beryl Wilson, had searched for her son, going so far as contacting the Hungarian embassy, as well as former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
The search seemed destined to come up empty, until Beryl typed her nephews name into a search engine. As luck would have it, Gavin’s Facebook profile popped up. The profile showed he had been born in Liverpool, and named Avril as his mother.
Although Gavin had not logged onto the account for months, Beryl was able to contact him by emailing his kids. Gavin emailed back and eventually was reunited with his mother.
