A New Jersey man was awarded $95,000 in damages after a tap on the shoulder from his mother while he was using a miter saw caused him to lose his little finger.

John Garrity had originally sought $191,000 for the 2006 accident but the State Superior Court jury ruled that Garrity and his mother each shared 50% of the blame. He was awarded half of the damages and half of his $37,000 in medical costs. [UPI]
