A Vermont man is in custody awaiting trial on a charge of first degree assault after he stabbed his son with a corkscrew following an argument sparked by a blocked toilet.
Police were called to the Vershire home of 53-year-old Nazeih Hammouri, where they found that he had stabbed his 19-year-old son, Jeffrey Hammouri, in the stomach with a corkscrew. The pair had been arguing after the son blocked the toilet.
Hammouri is being held on $15,000 bail. It is believed that alcohol was involved.
