Russian police are said to have arrested three homeless men suspected of eating a 25-year-old man and selling other parts of the corpse to a local kebab shop.

Dismembered body parts found near a bus stop initially raised suspicions of investigators in the outskirts of Perm, located 1,150 km (720 miles) to the east of Moscow.

The suspects, three homeless men, are believed to have killed a “foe” with knives and a hammer, then chopped up his corpse for food.

According to a spokesman of the Prosecutor-General’s main investigative unit for the Perm region:

After carrying out the crime, the corpse was divided up: part was eaten and part was also sold to a kiosk selling kebabs and pies.

There was no word on whether any of the meat had been sold to customers.
