Two people have been hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a man opened fire at a funeral brawl.
According to police, tensions between two families boiled over, resulting in a mass brawl that ended when a 23-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were shot. The gunman and the victims were among the approximately 100 people in attendance of the funeral of an aboriginal elder in the rural town of Narrogin, Western Australia.
The woman is in a critical condition, while the man has been stabilized and remains in hospital. Police have since charged a 55-year-old Pinjarra and a 54-year-old, woman, both from Pinjarra, with discharging a firearm with intent to cause fear. Three guns were recovered from the crime scene.
