Woman Arrested After Hydroponic Crop Dims Street’s Lights

Police arrested a 19-year-old woman in a Fleetwood, Lancashire in the UK, after it was found that she had diverted power from the town’s street lamps to light her cannabis crop.

The Daily Mail reports that residents initially thought that the council was “experimenting with experimenting with low-energy light bulbs” because their street lights were so much darker than those on other streets.

A police investigation revealed the real cause of the streetlights’ dimness, a hydroponic setup that they say the young suspect was using to produce a £100,000 marijuana crop, which was spread over three bedrooms of her property. The woman was charged over the drug crop and “illicitly removing power.”
