Knife-Wielding Woman Obviously a Huge Fan of American Idol

Consider this story not only an example of extreme violence and explosive rage, but also as a public service announcement, directed at all the men out there currently in a long-term relationship.

Guys, never, never, ever change the channel when your woman is watching one of her shows.  The consequences can be deadly.  Or in this case, almost deadly.

Such was the case of one Kevin Johnson, 47, who made the mistake of changing the channel on his girlfriend, Cynthia Bettis-Ware, 52, after the pair began arguing over something they saw on “American Idol.”  Thinking that the argument was finished after he changed the channel, Johnson went to bed.

Big mistake.

A little while later, Johnson awoke to find Bettis-Ware towering over him, holding a 10-inch butcher’s knife in her hand–which she used to stab her boyfriend with seven times; five times in the back and twice in the chest.  She followed up the knife attack with a hot chocolate scalding, before Johnson was able to wrestle the knife from the crazed woman.

Bloodied, Johnson stumbled out of the motel room the couple called home, and went looking for help.  Bettis-Ware, showing her never-give-up attitude, chased him into the parking lot, brandising yet another knife.  This time though, a crowd of people that had gathered in the lot protected Johnson, and called 911.

Bettis-Ware has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, but I’m sure the judge will label her attack on Johnson as justifiable, as soon as he or she finds out that the best Johnson could come up with for a place to live was a cheap motel room.
