Sounds to me like somebody has seen Weekend at Bernie’s one too many times. Actually, once would be one too many times if you ask me.
A pair of women were busted at John Lennon Airport after they tried smuggling the corpse of a 91-year-old gentleman onto a flight bound for Berlin. Their modus operandi? Throwing a pair of sunglasses on the body and strapping him into a wheelchair, and then praying that everyone buys the “he’s a very heaver sleeper” explanation.
Unfortunately for the pair of corpse-smugglers, they were found out.
Although the women have been arrested, they have yet to be charged, as police are continuing to investigate.
Maybe it’s just me, but wouldn’t it have been easier just to stuff the body in a suitcase and throw him in the cargo hold? At the very least, the ladies would have saved on the cost of the flight.
