When a pair of brothers approached police officers in Pilibhit district, India and told them that they had killed a hardened career criminal – they were met with disbelief, until they saw the boys’ blood-stained sleeves.
After hearing the two boys, aged five and seven repeat, “Humne Mahendra ko maar dala (We have killed Mahendra),” the police decided to go and take a look – which led them to discover the blood-soaked body of the wanted criminal Mahendra.
On recognizing the fugitive from his wanted poster, the boys are said to have picked up sickles, run over to the man and hacked him to death.
the cops had no choice but to believe that the duo had done what hundreds of cops in Pilibhit couldn’t.
According to a police official:
It sounds unbelievable that such young boys, who cannot even express themselves clearly, could kill such a hardcore criminal. It seems that Mahendra was intoxicated and could not retaliate since it seems impossible that the boys would kill a grown up man with such force that he dies on the spot.
The official also noted that a court was going to decide how to deal with the two boys, as they are too young for juvenile detention.
Has anyone sat down and thought maybe, just maybe an older person did the killing and it was made to seem as if the boys had done the killing as they would be less likely to get a criminal conviction? This sound a lot more credible than a 5 & 7yr old carrying out the murder.
