Rat extermination attempt claims three humans

An elderly Ukrainian man, his wife and their grand daughter died of carbon monoxide poisoning when an ill-conceived rat extermination plan went wrong.

The 71-year-old had planned to gas the vermin in the basement of his home using exhaust fumes from his car. So he attached a hose to the exhaust pipe of Zaporozhets and stuck it through his basement window, and waited.

Some time later he went down into the basement to check on the results of his experiment… and never returned. Concerned, his 77-year-old wife went down into the basement to check on him and succumbed to the fumes as well. His 29-year-old granddaughter followed soon after.

Another granddaughter almost became the fourth human victim of the gaseous rat trap when she discovered the bodies two hours later. [Say What?]
