Dr. Khurram Syed Sher was among four people taken into custody over an alleged terror plot in London, Ontario on Thursday. The 28-year-old Canadian stands out, not just because he is a doctor, but because of his lackluster audition for Canadian Idol some time ago.
The video shows Sher, dressed in a panjabi, busting out a few lines of Avril Lavigne’s Complicated along with a smattering of impressively retro dance moves.
The alleged terror cell were said to have had plans for building improvised explosive devices, one of the members was said to know how to use them. It is ironic really, because if he really wanted to strike fear into the hearts of Canadians, he could have just stuck to his singing. [MSNBC]

As someone who spent 14 years on the sub-continent I can tell you it is a word that is used, both in Bengali and in English, to describe the clothing that the possibly not so good doctor was wearing. It is also known as a kurta.
