SkyRider Seats: yes, economy class could be a whole lot worse

If you think economy class is cramped, just take a look at these SkyRider airplane seats. Rows have just 23 inches between them (that’s 8 inches less than the smallest economy class seating configuration at the moment).

There is talk that this would be for a class below economy class – an even cheaper option if you will. I just want to know where they are going to put them. On a lot of the flights I go on business and economy are both packed. First class is usually nearly empty but doesn’t take up all that much room. These SkyRider seats are going to have to supplant something that is already in place. See the problem?

So far, SkyRider hasn’t been picked up by any airlines and I for one am hoping that it stays that way. [Coolest Gadgets]
