Banksy puts robot on British hotel


A hotel in Devon, England looks to have become the latest canvas for a certain famous British street artist.

The mural shows a small boy dressed as a robot drawing a robot. Although it has not been confirmed that Banksy is behind the painting, it does bear his distinct style – and it has appeared on the Banksy website.

Joyleen Layman, the general manager of the Grosvenor Hotel, told the BBC:

It’s crazy how much interest it has generated. I was at work on the Sunday night and it wasn’t there when I left. When I drove in in the morning I noticed the cardboard box first and I parked the car then went back and had another look.

It just made me smile – I didn’t know right away that it was a Banksy. I think it’s great.

The hotel is not taking any chances and has invested in a big sheet of Perspex to protect the potentially valuable stencil-work from the elements, vandals and overzealous council painters. Similar works have been worth as much as $241,000, which puts
