Porsche driving doctor allegedly threatened speed camera operator with death by malpractice

The British General Medical Council heard yesterday that a doctor threatened to kill a speed camera operator through the poor practice of medicine.

Those present at David Heal’s misconduct hearing heard that he pulled over his Porsche to confront the speed camera operator and knocked his hand when he attempted to photograph his car – he is then alleged to have uttered an ominous threat:

If you ever come to me for treatment, I will make sure you die.

The inquiry heard that it was not the good doctor’s first such incident. Amongst other things, he is also said to have verbally abused a separate speed camera operator and was previously convicted of assault for striking a man who tried to repossess his Porsche when he fell behind on payments.

I’ve got to say, I sympathize with Dr. Heal – a little bit anyway. With a name like that he must have been the butt of many a professional joke – which might go some way to explaining the source of at least some of the rage with which he allegedly has a problem. [Mail]
