Ah to be a young, bright-eyed college student in the Herndon, Virginia area, instead of the old, broken down, decrepit man I am—I would so apply for this internship being offered by Volkswagen of America.
Why? Because Bugatti is looking for a marketing intern to help coordinate their marketing and press relations activities. On the surface it doesn’t sound all that hot, except that it’s an internship with a successful, well managed automobile company, but dig deeper into the job description and it gets much more awesome.
From Volkswagen of America, here are just some of the lucky intern’s duties…
•Coordination of press activities in cooperation with Bugatti’s public relations firm
oScheduling of press cars for events
oCommunication of planned activities to secure involvement of Bugatti dealers as necessary
oCoordination of press activities with Bugatti S.A.S. priorities•Management of Bugatti car plan and customer test drives
oEnsure adequate coverage of press cars for dealer test drives
oSecure signatures as required for Vehicle Loan Agreement and Liability Waiver Form
oInvoice dealers for use of press cars
?Vehicle transportation
?Professional driver services
oIn coordination with Bugatti After Sales, ensure press vehicles are properly maintained and any damage repaired.
Now you understand. Sure, the intern will probably get stuck doing menial tasks like fetching coffee, picking up dry cleaning, and squiring the ugly sons and/or daughters of potential clients around, but what 20-year-old college student wouldn’t do just about anything, no matter how demeaning, to get behind the wheel of a Bugatti.
