What you see above you is an amazing recreation of Minas Tirith, also known as Tower of Guard (of Lord of the Rings fame) built entirely out of matchsticks. The construction is the work of Iowa’s Patrick Acton, who has been doing this sort of thing for the past 25 years or so.
It was totally worth the sacrifice of however many trees it took to make all of those matchsticks.
