Balancing pig, a two-legged model of porcine determination [video]


The owner of the pig that you see in the image to your left calls her Zhu Janqiang (strong-willed) – a look at the video below explains why.

Had Wang Xihai let nature take its course with his little piglet, her missing hind legs might have been a death sentence. Instead, the fact that she was missing two of her most delicious body parts brought out his tender side and he taught the female piglet to walk, a trick that she mastered in a few short days.

Now the hefty sow weighs in at 50kg but still walks effortlessly on her two front legs. Despite having received a number of offers, Wang has has stated resolutely that Zhu Janqiang is not for sale.
