Baby born with baby in it’s belly!
It sounds like a headline from one of the worst tabloid magazines in the world, but in this case it’s a reality.
The condition is known as “foetus in fetu,” or “fetus within a fetus,” and is extremely rare. Basically, the mother is pregnant with twins and at some point during gestation one of the fetuses ends up in the stomach and grows there.
Once born, the condition is often mistaken for a cystic mass and is surgically removed and this was what happened with this little boy, born in Dec. 2011.
It was only after the “cyst” was removed did doctors notice two little limbs and realized it was actually a fetus.
