Surfer Tackles 100FT Wave, Could Be New World Record

Anyone who’s remotely interested in surfing has probably come across the stories of huge waves in Nazarre, Portugal.  Well, here’s another tale of a 100ft wave and the Brazilian surfer who tackled it.

Carlos Burle rode the massive wave during the Billabong XXL surfing competition in the Ride of the Year category. During the competition, female surfer Maya Gabeira, also from Brazil, tried the waves and almost drowned.
