The Internet is a powerful tool for child pornographers to trade their wares. In recent years, the FBI has been cracking down by placing undercover agents in chatrooms to catch child predators freely distributing illegal material. As a result, many would-be child predators have become more cautious in an effort to avoid persecution.
Not Kevin Shea, a.k.a., Pervymcperv, who uploaded several ‘compromising’ files to a peer-to-peer network at the request of an undercover agent.
What was he thinking? Doing something terribly illegal is stupid enough, but choosing an ID like ‘Pervymcperv’ would be like Tony Montoya flying a banner over his mansion announcing “LOTS OF COCAINE HERE.” Check out the affidavit: [thesmokinggun.com]
