Unprovoked Assault: Man Calls Diner Zombie, Then Punches Him Twice

Iowa City Police are currently investigating an assault that occurred in the early hours of the morning. One man is alleged to have accused another of being a zombie before punching him twice.

The assault occurred at 1:17 a.m. at an Iowa City restaurant. The victim was buying food at the time of the attack. According to police, after the assailant called the victim a “zombie” he punched him in the eye. When the victim tried to call the police, the attacker broke his nose.

The assailant fled the scene through a back door; thus far no arrests have been made.
