Acne Highlighting Lamps Scare Teenagers Away

A town that had trouble with teenagers drinking, selling drugs and intimidating passers by found a novel solution, pink lights. The pink lights were initially put up because teenage boys would find them “uncool,” but it was the fact that they highlighted acne that really sent them running.

Local authorities in other parts of Britain have tried other measures including playing a high-pitched “mosquito” tone that adults are not supposed to be able to hear (but that many can) and by playing unpopular music like Barry Manilow. [News]
