Brain Surgeon Suffers Angina Attack in Surgery

card Claudio Vital, a 59-year-old Italian Neurosurgeon at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples was in the middle of performing delicate brain surgery when he was struck with an angina attack. Vital continued to work, despite the pain growing worse with time and insisted on finishing the procedure himself. An hour after completing the procedure Vital was again in surgery, for angioplasty, from which he is recovering well.

In his own words:

I couldn’t leave the patient at such a delicate moment, I’m not a hero, I was only doing my duty.
