Man Walks Again After Deadly Spider Bite

David Blancarte, who was paralyzed from the waist down for almost 21 years following a motorcycle accident, was surprised to find that feeling returned to his legs following the bite of a deadly brown recluse spider.

Blancarte was in hospital following the spider bite when a nurse noticed a spasm in his leg; a test with electrical current revealed that he had feeling. Bites from the brown recluse spider can cause tissue death and long-lasting sores, or in cases of severe reaction, death.
