Investigation: Sam Cummings Meet Aaron’s Acne

aaron-acne-before1107Tabloid sources like Sunday Sport are inherently untrustworthy and there is always a good chance that they are going to post a deliciously tempting piece of fake news; such was the case with the story of Sam Cummings and the unfortunate situation that befell him one day when he woke up with a constellation of pimples that spelled the word “arse.”

Claims of “shopping” were quick to emerge, as were a few people that argued the possibility of it being real (including one person on Fazed who claimed that his own pimples had once lined up to say YMCA). All of this got me thinking that it would be great to prove this thing either true or false; in honor of the spirited discussion that was generated by the article.

Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, the investigation did not take very long. A Google Image search for the terms: “acne before and after”. I was rewarded with plenty of pimply images, but no Sam Cummings. Perhaps, afterall, this was a fools errand. I clicked onto the second page, nothing again; then the third, a familiar face, on the bottom line, third from the left, for a site called Aaron’s acne.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted and we were all entertained by the possibility of what might have been.
