When Mr. Mao, a janitor from Shenzhen, China deposited 7,000 yuan (about $1000) of his earnings in an ATM and was met with an error message he became proactive.

First, he checked at the neighboring ATM to see if his funds had been deposited in his account, they had not. Rather than leave anything to chance, he called his family and requested a portable bed and table. He then camped out by the ATM until the bank opened and returned his money.
