Non: French Object To Cheaply Made Rosé

rose-wine-992507035A staggering 87% of French people polled regarding an European Plan to allow blends of red and white wine, opposed the idea. Rosé is traditionally made by adding crushed red grapes to white grapes and fermenting the two together, rather than by simply mixing different colors of wine.

A compromise that would distinguish between traditionally made French rosés and the cheaper blended products that are typically produced in Australia and South Africa has been offered by the European Commission.

The poll further found that only 12% of people would be prepared to try blended rosé, despite the lower price. [NZ Entertainment via NewsNow]

It surprises me that people aren’t willing to even give it a try. You really can’t taste that much of a difference.
