Octogenarian Subdues Burglar With Metal Crutch

Over the course of our life there’s going to be times when we wish we’d have done things differently.  For a 26 year old burglary suspect in Treharris, Wales, the decision to rob the house belonging to 86 year old Gwyneth Davies proved to be one of those times.

Davies, who at the time is recovering from pneumonia, a hip fracture, and broken ribs, was just heading off to bed when she noticed the man in her kitchen.

So what did the 86 year old Davies do?  Why, what any normal octogenarian would do when confronted by a stranger standing in her kitchen…she beat him senseless.

Using her metal crutch as a weapon, she struck the intruder four times, then ordered him to sit and wait as she alerted police.  Apparently this was too much for the suspected burglar, who was reduced to a blubbering mess until authorities arrived to take him away.

When asked by police if she was hurt, the feisty Davies replied “You’re asking the wrong one!” [UPI]
