Old Yankee Stadium Urinals Popular Memorabilia Items

urinalWith the New York Yankees baseball team officially settled into their new digs, the dismantling of old Yankee Stadium has begun.

First order of business–making a buck off memorabilia collectors.

As with this type of baseball memorabilia auction, items such as seats, signs, and even infield dirt are popular choices for professional collectors and common fans.

On the other hand, one of the more popular item requests is for the old stadium’s urinals.

Surprising?  Yes.

Disgusting?  You better believe it.

Old Yankee Stadium was built in 1923, refurbished in the 1970’s, and closed in 2008.  Now think of all the men over the years to “relieve” themselves in those urinals–and yet, they’re still a sought after piece of memorabilia.

Depending on how you look at this, it’s either lucky or unlucky that the urinals are not available for auction.  Foul poles, yes–urinals, no.

And that’s probably for the best. [UPI, Image]
