I highly doubt Tiger Woods has ever ran into this kind of trouble, on or off the golf course.
A drunken Milwaukee golfer, left behind by the relatives he had been playing golf with, decided he’d “borrow” the course’s golf cart and drive home…40 miles away.
Police were called to the golf course after someone called in a disorderly conduct complaint. On his way to the course, Deputy Andrew Meier spotted the man driving the cart down highway 167, who then turned down highway 175.
Meier flashed his lights and blew his air horn to get the man to pull over, but the suspect only turned and waved at the deputy. The “fugitive” eventually pulled over to the side of the road after driving for a while longer.
Deputy Meier found 8 empty beer cans in the cart, and noted the gentleman had glassy eyes and slurred speech. He also failed the field sobriety tests, as well as scoring a 0.138 on the breathalyzer test. Greater than 0.08 in Wisconsin is considered intoxicated.
In addition to being charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, the merry golfer was also ticketed for having open alcohol containers in a motor vehicle, as well as failing to stop at a stop sign. [WKOWTV.COM, Image]
