Snake Bitten Cocks Banned In China

chickenHealth authorities in China have decided to stop restaurants from serving chickens bitten to death by poisonous snakes. The meal, which is served by a small number of restaurants in Guangdong and Chongqing, is believed by some to have detoxifying effects.

A number of Chinese bloggers took issue with the practice after a video showing a cook forcing a snake to bite a chicken was circulated online. [Yahoo]
