Woman’s Body Found Under 8 Feet of Garbage–In Her Home

Submitted by JeffG on Thursday, 8 October 2009No Comment | Google Buzz |

garbageIt’s hard to understand why some people choose to live in squalor.  But they do, and it’s pretty gross, to say the least.

A Jacksonville, Florida woman was one such person who lived in a trash filled home.  That is until she died.  71-year-old Carina Decampo had not been heard from her relatives in weeks, so the worried family called the police to go check on her.

What police found was a house filled with garbage, and a stench so powerful it made some officers ill.  But no Decampo.  Eventually the cops had to call in the firefighters with their breathing apparatus’ and cadaver dogs.  They finally discovered the body of Carina Decampo…buried under 8-feet of garbage.

That’s no typo.

That’s a lot of garbage.

Decampo’s body was found near the front door.  An autopsy is planned in order to find out what she died from, although I’m guessing it might have something to do with the garbage-filled house of death . [CBS News,Image]
