If you blink, you just might miss the moment that Dean Gardener, 19, and Jason Fender, 22, find themselves knocked to the ground after attacking a man dressed as a woman, who just happened to be a cage fighter out for a fancy dress party.
Closed circuit television footage shows Gardener (topless) and his Husky acquaintance Fender out looking for trouble. Gardener, who had drunk jugs of cocktails and ten pints of cider found himself in a separate altercation mere moments before the incident; when that ended, the pair wandered down the street until they came upon the cross-dressers, who by day just happened to be cage fighters.
Precisely what happened next is unclear due to lack of sound, but it seems that Gardener approached the group of cross-dressed men and became abusive. After Gardener swung a punch, both he and Fender were knocked to the ground and issued a physical warning from by one of the cross-dressers.
Afterward, the drunken pair are seen to groggily get to their feet and stagger down the street. Police arrive a short time later. Gardener and Fender were charged with using abusive words and behavior. They pleaded guilty and were sentenced to a four-month community order. They were also tagged and placed on a curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Mark Davies, the lawyer for the pair, remarked:
You know it cannot have been a good night when you get into a fight with two cross-dressing men.
