funeralApparently he was hoping it was a catered affair.  Or he just wanted to set the record straight that he was not dead, but very much alive.

Ademir Jorge Goncalves, 59, a Brazilian bricklayer, was reportedly killed in a car crash, even though the body found at the scene was severly disfigured, to the point of being almost unrecognizable.

While some family members didn’t believe the corpse to be Goncalves, four of his buddies, and his sister, identified the remains as being on Ademir Jorge Goncalves.

Which was news to him.

The Brazilian tradition is to bury the dead the following day, which is what Goncalves’ family did.  But Goncalves had been drinking with friends at a truck stop the night before, and didn’t hear of his funeral until the day of.

Needless to say, the mourning family members were shocked when Goncalves showed up at his own funeral.  Apparently they were quite relieved to see him alive, and not the least bit concerned he may be a zombie.

The corpse has been correctly identified, and the family has been notified.

Oh, and to the police department of Santo Antonio da Platina, as far as your body identification process goes–there may be a problem with it.
